We are Anthony Beckman and Alissa Lind.
We started Cruess in 2013 with a strong commitment to producing unique and beautiful wines without compromise. Our wines reflect the beauty of Sonoma County and our passion for the art of winemaking itself.
When we first met in 2001 in San Francisco, something gracefully and inexplicably shifted. We didn’t completely realize it then, but gradually anything seemed possible.
And then – less than a year after meeting – we had a long, serious, and wild conversation about an ideal future together.
Children. Art. Wine. Beauty. Old Age. Happiness.
Everything blurred and tangled.
There was conviction and electricity.
And a lot of wine drinking…
We quit our tech jobs in the city,
applied for school, and never looked back.
Anthony ended up digging out tanks of Dry Creek Zinfandel and Alissa applied for her teaching credential.
Next, we were off to New Zealand for harvest.
Four harvest internships and two teaching jobs later, we finally landed in Healdsburg, the heart of Sonoma County winemaking.
We never want to leave.
